How to get IPhone X to work with Gen 2 PCM Bluetooth

Hi Guys,
Having recently purchased a 2009 Gen2 C2s Cab I am having trouble connecting my I Phone X for bluetooth. I go through the process as per the manual, the phone pairs OK and PCM shows on my phone but the car then says cannot find telephone with "SIM Access profile"? Is this a problem with the car or the phone? This phone worked OK on my previous Gen 1 car with PCM 2. Any thoughts appreciated.

I think the solution to your problem will require a Porsche System Tester to change the setting on the car from Sim Access Profile to Hands Free Profile. i believe Apple phones do not support the Sim Access Profile which in effect uses the Sim from the phone in the PCM.

Thanks Terry, you have put me on the right track. After further work online it seems I will need to upgrade my PCM 3.0 operating system to get the hands free option. My car is an early 997 and my version doesn't support HF. I will wait until it goes for service later in the year. The upgrade adds the 7 digit post code search and updated maps. It used to be about £300, not sure what it is now. Thanks for your help.

I am not sure you need to upgrade to get the hands free option. I think it’s worth getting an independent Porsche specialist to plug it in and see if they can deselect the sim access profile which will then default to hands free profile.
