Wednesday 17th August - Monthly Meeting Garstang Golf Club – "Alternative Vehicle Night”. Many of our members have other classic and sports cars in their garages. This is an opportunity to bring them along. In the past we have had Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, Austin Healey, an American Step-Side Pick-up and even a Reliant Robin Van. We haven’t had any motorcycles or HGV’s yet

Thursday 18th August – Bridge House Farm Tea Rooms– Wray. Classic and Sports car night. You need to arrive by 17.00 latest to get on the main car park. Another overflow car park is now also available. Over 100 vehicles attend. Excellent café and burgers/hog roast by Bowland Meats,

September Monthly Meeting
Garstang GC not available on our usual 3rd Wednesday as the Womens Institute take over the whole hotel each year for their annual event and our usual date is not available.

We have some alternatives. I have been asking for some time, and Matthew has put a poll on Facebook about what we should do for September, but not had many replies..

Simple Alternatives
  • Stay at Garstang Golf Club but go either a week earlier or later.
  • Same date but go to a different venue. I have evaluated about 90 venues already and have checked them out, Matthew McGavrock is favouring Pleasington Golf Club, Blackburn.
  • 3rd Thursday (15th) September at Wray, Move the Monthly meeting to this night which same night as usual classic car night and use the upstairs café from 19.45 say
  • If you have any suggestions for venues please check them out and let me know
  • Cancel September meeting altogether
PLEASE LET ME HAVE YOUR RESPONSES BY E-MAIL R18@porscheclubgb.com ASAP AND WE CAN PLAN WHAT TO DO ON OUR MONTHLY MEETING NIGHT.

A few members want us to totally move away from Garstang Golf Club. If you do, again please check venues out and let me have full details, with a written quote of room hire charges, projector/screen hire charge, whether we can have a room to ourselves, or whether we just have a roped off area of a bar and whether we have to purchase food. We also need a good safe car park.
Also we don’t want quiz night or other noisy activity going on the same evening adjacent to our meeting area or room.
