Hi - looking for some help diagnosing a judder on my daughters Macan S (2018) when either in 1st or 2nd. Local OPC seem unable to get to root of problem which is concerning as it's used to transport my 2 year old grand daughter to nursery each day. Car is predominantly used around town, with occasional longer journeys. Any hints/tips would be greatly appreciated

Haven't heard of that - could you provide a bit more detail as perhaps the terminology "transfer case" is throwing me.

Was going to start writing an explanation but found this good summary on the web.

Transfer Case: A transfer case is a part of the drivetrain of four-wheel-drive, all-wheel-drive, and other multiple powered axle vehicles. The transfer case transfers power from the transmission to the front and rear axles by means of drive shafts.

extract:
The Porsche Macan has become somewhat infamous for issues with the transfer box, though it's not necessarily on all years. Many owners have felt vibrations or acceleration that's stuttered when starting from a flat surface or at speeds of 25-35 mph. It sort of feels like You're going over a lot of small speed bumps, and is initially somewhat understated, so You're not quite sure that You've felt it, but then progressively gets worse. The reason this problem exists seems to be because of how Porsche mated the four-wheel drive system within the transfer case and is such a regularly reported complain that they've extended the warranty period coverage of the transfer case, though no recalls have been issued. If You experience this problem, You're going to want to take it into the shop before it gets much worse.

Just noticed your post. It’s known as the transfer box actually and an accepted fault by Porsche on some models. The faults you describe sound exactly what happens when there is a transfer box failure and I’m surprised your OPC are not suspecting this!
Porsche have extended the warranty on all vehicles with this fault to 7 years.
Hope this helps.

Tim,

It seems to have been a problem on Cayennes, carried-over onto Macans.

I think you’ll find that Porsche have extended the warranty on transfer boxes from 3-years to (possibly?) 6-years, so it’s worthwhile taking-up the issue again with your local Porsche Centre even though they appear to be somewhat reticent to do anything about it. Very surprising, since it appears to be a well known problem.
