Body work recommendations - Surrey area

Just collected my first Porsche Boxster which was almost perfect ( complete with original umbrella) when I viewed it having driven 120 miles to see it. Trusting soul that I am, and buying from a 10 year careful owner with a CBE, I didn’t do another check over when I collected it. Big mistake. in the week between seeing it and collecting it he had backed into something and creased the bumper in several places which I didn’t notice until I got home after the 240 mile round trip. It could be described as minor but very disappointing. I am quite sad about the whole experience now.

My first quote to repair is £700. I have now found a bumper on eBay in the right colour but, more importantly, without the extensive creasing that will take a lot of time to sort out. The seller is a classic car specialist repairer who is too far from me to make it viable to have the work done there, but they will send the bumper.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced body shop that does good work with Porsche colours close to Leatherhead or Guildford please?

Many thanks.

Very sorry to hear of your experience.

In the distant past I used Autocosmetix who are on the A3 westbound as you leave Guildford. They are just down the road from the Official Porsche Centre who use them for minor work I believe. I was satisfied with their work at the time but it was some 12 years ago.

Hi Surreygraham,

I am very sorry to hear this.

I am unfortunately in a similar position having incurred some damage to my 911 Targa front wing and have just contacted the Porsche Centre in Guildford to get a repair quote. They immediately referred me onto Premier Panels in Farnham (Premier Panel Skills Farnham- About Us). I don't know how good they are but I am going to progress a quote through them so will keep you posted. Please let me know who you end up going with.

Cheers, Keith

Thanks Keith.

I got a recommendation from a friend for someone in Milford today for body work. I gave him a call and it turns out that he used to work on Porsche cars. His name is Mick Jolly and he seemed to be a good guy who knew his stuff. Not sure he has a website but a quick Google will find him. Not sure he has very swish premises but that doesn’t always mean quality. I’m away next week but will be following up with him when I get back.

Graham.

I would also recommend these guys in West Horsley. Always a great collection of cars being worked on in there and they do a top job.
