Changing an order for a C2S to a C4S

I placed an order for a 992 C2S in March 2021. Out of the blue my local OPC called me to say that the car will be built next month despite saying just a few weeks ago that it would be October at the earliest 2022 and even that may drift into 2023. If I want this slot I have to make a quick decision. The big problem is that I’d like to get a C4S instead. The OPC says I can’t make that change now.

Does anyone know if that is really true or has anyone gone down the same route and had a satisfactory outcome?

Personally, I would stick with the original C2S as it's a better driving car IMHO.

Unfortunately, your dealer is right and you will have to start at the back of the queue again if you change to a C4S, as there will be many people ahead of you who also placed their order back in 2021 for a C4S. Each and every model has it's own queue, my dealer showed me how it works so imagine a spreadsheet with all the models going down the left side, and then in each row next to the model you will have the name of the person and when they placed an order etc...

I'd seriously take the C2S, allocations are very hard to come by at the moment let alone being told your car is about to be built, so grab the opportunity. Plus, as Clive says above the C2S is a better drive and you won't have any traction issues with it as they handle and grip so well already.
