Region 5 in association with the fabulous Lycian events have arranged a trip to the Classic Le Mans in July 2022, see:https://www.lycianevents.com/classic-le-mans/

With this in mind I thought that I would share with you a short summary of our plan / itinerary in case it is of interest.
29th June Convoy (time TBC) from Chelford, Cheshire to Travelodge, Poole Harbour (Lifeboat Quay, BH15 1LS) and perhaps a curry and a beer nearby.

On the 30th June, we are travelling on the Poole to Cherbourg ferry departing at 08:30 and arriving in Cherbourg at 14:00. We will then drive together down to the Village on the Curves.

Joy, Stephen and the team from Lycian Events are looking forward to welcoming our group and if you decide to join us, please make sure that you let Lycian know that you would like to be located in the Region 5 camping area which will be situated close to the action on the track. If you are bringing more than one car per tent, please remember to let Joy know.

As there will be so many of us, there will be no set itinerary, you are free to enjoy the weekend as you please. As I’m sure you will appreciate, it would be difficult for us to book a table at a restaurant that could accommodate a group of our size.

Lycian put on plenty of shuttle busses to and from the circuit entrance and the tram stop to the City Centre.

For those that are interested in Grandstand seats, the majority of us have gone for the ACO grandstand where seats are priced at just £39.

Joy and Stephen usually host a bit of a part on the Sunday night with some music which is normally great fun.

On the Monday morning before we head back to Cherbourg, I propose that we try and get some group photos of our cars all together on Mulsanne chicane, under the Porsche bridge and at the Porsche Curves.

Finally we will be returning on Monday 4th July 2022, departing from Cherbourg at 18:15 arriving back in Poole at 21:45.

Should you have any questions or queries about this trip, do please get in touch.

Our plans are coming together for the long weekend R5 trip to the Classic Le Mans event this summer.

If any of you have already booked with Joy and Stephen at Lycian Events and you would like to camp in the same area as the rest of the R5 group close to the Porsche Curves, do please let me know so that we can arrange this for you.

Furthermore, we have also set up a small Classic Le Mans dedicated R5 WhatsApp group, if you are interested in joining in just send me a direct message with your mobile number and I’ll add you to the group.

Finally, if you are thinking of joining us and would like more information, do please let me know or get in touch with Joy or Stephen Fowell at Lycian Events as per my previous post.
