New club member and owner

Hi - just introducing myself.

I'm new to the club and Porsche ownership, having just been fortunate enough to get in December a MY22 911 Targa 4 GTS. Absolutely loving it so far (although only done about 100 miles in light of constant terrible weather!).

No issues so far other than trying to fathom PCM 6.0.......its not quite as intuitive as the BMW's systems I'm used to!

For those interested full optional spec added below (along with a pics - indoors as its raining again!) - and yes, I went bold on the color, typically I do silver, black cars but felt it suited the Python Green - I certainly wont misplace it easily!

Congratulations on your new purchase, I was fortunate to have a 991 Targa 4S in 2016 but as Targa was not available for my current purchase decided on a Carrera S Cabrio, which I have been very happy with. Time is now right to consider my next car and last month I ordered a Targa 4 GTS, which is expected Q4 2022. We do often get carried away with the options when configuring on the system although I have tried to keep it reasonable again this time with option costs less than £10k.

As you can probable see from my past list of Porsches, I tend to hit the 'Black' button every time but one day may be brave enough to go for a more visible choice like you have done.

I hope you continue to enjot teh car and look forward to hearing of your ownership experiances in teh coming months.

Wow - you're clearly a longstanding Porsche owner, that's some list of cars! I know re the black TBH if I listed all my cars it would read pretty much the same but be all BMW's or Audi's!

For me cost, and practicality (i.e. Kids) prevented me having a Porsche previously so when the opportunity came up I really did grasp it - so went frankly a bit bonkers on the options and colour! To be fair its actually rather cool - I was nervous as hell about it but when I saw the car I knew it was a great choice (I actually chose it without even a sample available at the dealer so just had the configurator to go by) - a bit risky to say the least!

I was at Porsche Solihull today and they had a Carrera GTS Cabrio in the showroom, very similar spec to yours, Python Green, Green stitching, and the Gloss Black exterior package, I must say it looked very impressive.

Hi alefustec, very similar situation to you first time Porsche purchase. Should have my Targa GTS in March unless there are production delays. Absolutely love the fact you went for a colour, looks incredible. It’s a Targa it should be a little standout. Went for shark blue myself. Really struggled to choose between SB, carmine red and gentian. I hadn’t seen SB in person and luckily the local OPC had a SB Carrera in the showroom. Fell in love with it. Very similar spec to you, wish I’d gone for the gloss black accents…looks awesome. I thought I was a little kooky with some of my options but see you also opted for leather seats with the LP930. Personally I detest alcantara…the new racetex looks a lot better but the OCD in me just won’t stand for it irrespective of the belief it’s not a GTS without racetex. I really do wish Porsche had a GTS interior package in leather… went for the aluminum pdk too. I went for the GT heated steering wheel in leather as I’m planning to put that top down as often as possible. Interested to find out your thoughts on PPF?

Ahh the shark blue - i almost went for that colour too but couldn’t decide - my sona favourite colour is green so that’s what swung it.

yeah I know what you mean re a proper GTS interior - personally I don’t like alcantara/racetech either. at the end of the day I specced the car the way I wanted it not with any resale in mind. The heritage leather spec looks awesome IMO.

Bet your eager to get yours and hopefully it’ll arrive as planned - mine was 2 months delayed (originally due OCT 21) but I think I was lucky enough to get one of the first build slots as I literally ordered it same day as official release
