You should shortly receive (or possibly already have received) an invitation to December's Register Zoom call.

This will be on 14 December at 7.30pm, will feature another guest: Stephanie Bennett, Product Expert at Porsche Centre Hatfield. The objective of this meeting is to address user experiences and issues with PCM 5.0, which, although widely acknowledged as being an excellent platform, can be a little confusing with its multi-level menu system and layout.

Members are invited to submit questions in advance to allow us to consolidate themes and common issues for Stephanie to work through and address via a series of live demos during the meeting.

Please get in touch on the Forum thread (or via private message) or by emailing us at 992@porscheclubgb.com

If you do not receive the email by Wednesday 1 Dec, please double check that you are registered as a 992 owner under the "My Porsches" section on "My Profile". If you are (and did not receive the above email) then email 992@porscheclubgb.com

Thanks, Tim.

How can you plan a route on your laptop then send it to the PCM so that it can be directed and followed in the car?

Regards.

Clive

Is there a way of preventing the PCM defaulting immediately to Apple Car Play when entering the car with an Iphone?

Regards,

Clive

Yes there is Clive

Just go into device manager by clicking the LTE signal bars top left, and then click the arrow signal which will be green if active under the LINK,it should then prevent apple car play coming on .

Thanks Huw,
I was hoping there might be a way of doing this without disabling Carplay completely.
Regards,

Clive

The only way I can think of is to disable the 5G WIFI and use the USB cable instead> you still can use the normal WIFI for apps etc. The wireless option of car play uses the 5G WIFI.

Hi,

Is there a way to set auto stop/start to off by default?
No there isn’t, unless you use sport mode. If there was an option to disable auto stop/start it will not comply with the European regulations.

You could try programming "Off" into Individual Mode and select this mode each time you start your journey. Alternatively place the Stop/Start button on your PCM home screen and switch it off each time you start.

On Macan it's possible to programme the steering wheel diamond button as the switch, but unfortunately not on 992.

There may well be electronic wizards out there able to bypass the system, but PC's would not be allowed to do so.

Regards,

Clive

Yep I came to the same conclusion Clive and added a tile to the Home Screen.

NB: the new MY22/PCM6 setup allows you to programme the diamond steering wheel button and centre console paddle switch too now….progress ??

So on the start/stop, even if you tick the option to disable it in the car config, it will never save that config in "normal mode”? This is driving me crazy as I changed it a million times, but as soon as I turn the car off and on, that config option is forgotten.

newbie to Porsche here….
Autostop is disabled in Sport & Sport + and can be programmed out in Individual mode. You can try to assign the switch to the programmable diamond button too, but as mentioned in my earlier post, this is not always possible in some PCM software versions.

I believe most vehicles now default to Autostop - even Ferrari which at one time did allow for it to be turned off permanently.

Clive

Much appreciated!

Is there a way / can they come up with a way to (a) sound the horn (b) flash headlights (c) remote start / stop, using the "My Porsche" App?
