Hartech Zoom Talk/meeting Tuesday 18th January 2022

I am pleased to announce that after a fantastic meeting with Barry Hart of Hartech, he has agreed to a Zoom talk and meeting to explain the details of bore scoring and IMS failure, as well as to recite some of his great
stories, and this will be held on Tuesday 18th January 2022 at 7.30pm.

Barry has built a solid business on rebuilding M96 and M97 engines as well as other Porsche servicing and repair work and have an enviable reputation for the quality of their work, as well as being very successful in supplying engines in our own Porsche Club championship.  As well as their engine rebuilds, they also offer capacity increases, and I had the great pleasure of driving their test vehicles during my visit.  Many of the modified components they fit are manufactured in house, or if not are produced for them to their own specification, so not only do they repair engines, but they also try to stop the problem re-occurring in the future.

We will have a brief chat, then a presentation that Hartech are putting together, after which we will be open to questions and chat with members.

Ticketing has now been set up and is located here: https://www.porscheclubgb.com/regions-registers/registers/modern/997/events/2022/january/hartech-zoom-talk

I would like to join the event. Incidentally we (modified register with guests from 996) have just finished a zoom call with Ian Heward of Porscheshop talking about modifications and maintenance.

Steve,

Are you going to send out a Mailchimp with all the details to register members, better than a list on the Forum - there'll be no shortage of members wanting to attend the virtual event.

Presumably this will be of more interest to 997 Gen 1 and 996 than 997 Gen 2 DFI model owners? Also Cayman and Boxsters are similarly afflicted. Perhaps Baz might be willing to do a second zoom with Boxster/Cayman registers?

Steve,

As per Ralph’s post above, I’m a 987 Cayman owner rather than a 997 but I’d be very interested in tuning-in to Baz’s Zoom meeting if there’s room.

Yes, as Ralph says above, a mailchimp to 997 register members would seem to be the better way to go given only a minority use the forum.  However, advertising it here would be a way to collect members with other models who would like to join in.

I'm speeding because I have to get there before I forget where I'm going.

Ralph / Jeff
Many thanks for your interest.  Yes, I am looking to send out a mail chimp with details, which the clubhouse is working on for me at the moment.  Once I have offered it out to the 997 members, it will be extended to Boxster, Cayman, 996 and modified is not a problem also.
I just put the forum post up to start to gain interest, and will add more information in the near future.
