Can any point me in the right direction please?
  1. The display on my CR22 Radio/Cassette is illuminated, but doesn’t have any information displayed, so I cannot see what radio I have selected, or any information when playing a cassette. Can anyone help me resolve this problem please?
  2. The CD auto-changer has also stopped working and I am struggling to find a replacement, if anyone has one for sale, please let me know.

Is the front of the CR22 removable? (It had already been replaced when I bought my car and I now have a Becker).

My Becker does this too occasionally and it turned out to be the electrical contacts on the back of the removable display. A quick spray with contact cleaner and wipe with cotton buds seems to fix it.

Good afternoon Mark,

Thank you very much for the suggestion you supplied to me, which I am very happy to say worked.

If you let me know your address, I will send you a box of chocolates.

Any thoughts regarding obtaining a CD Auto-changer (not eBay) would be appreciated.

Kind regards,

Lynn.

If you're auto change is still not working, check the connections to the head unit and auto changer first, had a loose connection to head on one of ours.

If you need a replacement is it the Porsche (Becker) CDC-3, as these were used in the 993, 996 and 986 (our 993 and 986 both have them) and loads available on the web, mainly from 986 and 996s. eBay is fine for used ones and eBay will refund you if it arrives not working.

If you're mechanically inclined you can open up the auto changer and check the mechanism is not jamming or slipped and also if lens is not dirty. Had a previous unit where part slipped out of alignment and popped it back in. Also had condensation on lens in very cold weather.

Hope this help.

Cheers, Marc
