The greatly anticipated Region 5 Lakeland Weekend has now been confirmed for the weekend of 16 - 17 October.
This is going to be a fabulous yet informal weekend that will cater for all tastes, with a variety of drives offering each member the flexibility to choose to participate in some or all of them.
We want this weekend to a fun experience for all but also understand that not everyone wishes to be herded around in large groups. The priority is to get out in our cars with like-minded members, drive some excellent roads through some of finest scenery that the Lake District has to offer and to meet up with friends, when and as you choose.

Weekend highlights
  • Meet and greet at the new Porsche Centre, South Lakes
  • Three organised drives
  • Porsche only Windermere ferry crossing
  • Visit to the Lakeland Motor Museum
  • Luxury hotel rendezvous point
  • Spa treatments and facilities – at a supplement
  • Numerous bars and restaurants
  • Chance to meet up with friends and meet new members
  • Ability to make your own arrangements and choose which events to participate in
Our base for the weekend, where a few of us will be staying, will be the stunning Lakes Hotel & Spa in Bowness that has offered us the opportunity to use their facilities as a rendezvous point for the drives. They also have a range of rooms and rates, with the flexibility to choose one, two or three night stays, with a 10% Club discount for multiple night occupancy.

For those that wish to relax, the hotel offers a full range of spa treatments, there are a number of interesting walks available, including their famous Gin Walk, as well as cycle hire for those looking to explore off the beaten track. The hotel is a few minutes’ walk from Lake Windermere and the beautiful lakeside town of Bowness that has a variety of shops, bars and restaurants to keep everyone entertained.

Please look at the hotel website at: www.lakeshotel.co.uk for further details and to book your choice of room, you will need to call the hotel reservations desk on 015394 42211 and quote 'Porsche Weekend'. There is limited availability, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Once booked, please click the booking link on the event page to confirm attendance.

Should you prefer, there are a number of other more conservatively priced alternative hotels and guest houses in the nearby towns and villages that are available for you to make your own arrangements. We also understand that some may not wish to stay overnight, so please feel free to join us on a 'drive only' basis.

Saturday 16th October

Drive 1

Meeting at 09:30 am with a coffee at the newly opened Porsche Centre South Lakes, off junction 35 of the M6, departing at 10:30am, there will be a one and a half to two-hour drive to Bowness allowing everyone ample time to check in to their chosen accommodation, have some lunch and make themselves comfortable.

Drive 2
Starting from the Lakes View hotel at 2:30pm another drive will take us through some of the area’s finest driving roads returning to the hotel for about 5:00pm. For those not wishing to do the drive, this would be an ideal opportunity to take advantage of the spa club facilities, try the Gin Walk or simply amble down to the town and explore.

Evening
The hotel has a beautiful restaurant with a fine dining menu which can be booked direct with the hotel or you can make your own dinner arrangements with your friends in any number of the restaurants, pubs and bars that Bowness has to offer.

Sunday 17th October

Drive 3

Starting at 10.00 am sharp, there will be a driver’s briefing at the Hotel Spa Bar where tea and coffee will be available. The drive will commence at 10.30am. We will be making a ‘Porsche-only’ Windermere ferry crossing, or two as the case may be, driving through some of the best scenery the Lake District has to offer ending up a few hours later at The Lakeland Motor museum in Newby Bridge where we have organised a large Porsche-only parking area, offering all members the chance to visit the museum and Donald Campbell display as well as enjoy a lunch at Café Ambio if you wish.

From here, it is a short drive back to Bowness or for those going home, this is an easy departure point to aim for the M6 motorway, which is less than 30 minutes away.

To join us for what should be an excellent weekend, please click on the link below and confirm your attendance for the weekend or alternatively for the Saturday or the Sunday.
