997.2 shifter upgrade from plastic to metal parts ?

Hi all,

I seem to remember there was a chap on here that could help upgrade the standard 997 (.1 or .2 i think) shifter to GT3 spec with the metals bushings to get rid of the plasticky feeling. So keep standard throw (not shorter like the Porsche SSK which still retains plastic bushings) but firmer action as with metal parts and not white plastic.

I can't find the posts referring to this, can anybody point me in the right direction ? Next best thing if I would not be able to get that done is to get the GT3 part and pay the Porsche tax of course. My plan would be to upgrade the feel in a 997.2 S car, and whilst doing that also get the central console painted which should lift the interior nicely.

thank you, i was convinced a chap on here was able to indeed fit those metal upgrade parts to standard shifters and/or ssk

i guess the easiest would be to go for GT3 shifter directly

I think that there’s a chap on the 911UK forum (Alex?) who may offer something like this?

Jeff
