New Year Drive - 2 January 2022

Last year we made a suggestion for a New Years Day drive for 1 January this year, unfortunately the small matter of a pandemic got in the way!

Anyway, not to be beaten we have decided to try again on Sunday 2 January 2022 and have booked for lunch at 12pm at the Wensleydale Heifer in West Witton (just along the road from Hawes) - we have only 12 places for this event (including ourselves). Our plan is to drive over Tan Hill and Buttertubs (assuming no heavy snowfall) in the morning arriving for lunch between 11:30am and 11:45. Our return will be the low level route through Layburn, Reeth and Richmond. We have done this for a few years now and had a great day out, and you don't need to bring along the Porsche!

We do not have a cost for lunch as yet but we would expect to pay around £50 per head for a 3 course meal, we know that is relatively expensive but it is a premium time of year and it is a very good restaurant.

Initially we are keen to gauge interest - therefore please reply if you are interested in joining us - registration will follow later.

Best regards - Philip & Jacquie

Hi Philip

We are up for that! but doubt if it will be with the 911 up butter tubs in winter, more 4x4 with snow tyres I think

Cheers

Hi Alastair, isn't that a Carrera 4GTS Cab? So long as it's not deep in snow the Turbo will be going up :ROFLMAO:

See you soon - Philip

Hi Philip and Jacquie

Sounds great, Sue and I would love to attend.

Sure there will be lots of sunshine in and around Hawes:)

Love a 'mission' and the idea of a New Year run really appeals.

Please add me to the list for this event and thanks, great idea!
