10 month lead time for GTS 4

Ken,

Some delays with the semi-conductor issue but it will vary by dealer - might be worth calling a few to see what response you get ....

It certainly seems to be the norm at the moment due to semiconductor shortages, engine rebuilds etc. It may also be tied in with fleet emissions now that the new GT3 is in production using another large, dirty engine.

Afternoon all,

Very interested to know if anyone is experiencing excessive lead times for new orders? I placed an order (allocation) in April and was advised then by my local PC that the lead time was circa 6-8 months. I've recently been advised its now more likely to be 10 months. Is this the current norm?

Thanks

Ken

Ken,

I think the root cause is the world-wide semiconductor shortage combined with increased demand for cars and for electrical consumer goods in general. Unfortunately the car manufacturers were rather slow off the mark ramping-up orders and customers like you are suffering the knock-on effects in longer delivery times. As Mike has said, I think “shopping-around” is your only option if you want an earlier delivery.

I noticed that someone on the Macan forum was complaining that his car was being delayed because Porsche couldn’t get the seats from the supplier!

No issues for me. placed my order in March with a view to getting it by end of the year and now delivery coming July
