Region 5 Weekend Drives WhatsApp Group Relaunched!

We are pleased to announce that the Region 5 weekend drives WhatsApp group has been relaunched ready for summer 2021. The group will be used to organise relaxed, informal drives from a North West based starting point from where we will take in routes into the Peak District, Shropshire, Staffordshire and North Wales.

For those new to the format, please see some details below:
  • Drives will predominantly be organised for a Saturday morning starting at circa 08:00 08:30am.
  • Each drive will take in an interesting country route followed by a breakfast / coffee stop
  • Where possible each drive will take in a photo stop
  • The aim will be to organise one drive per month until the gritters come out. We will the have a break over the winter months and resume in the Spring
  • Drives will be wholly organised via the WhatsApp group
  • Each drive will take circa 2-3 hours (including a stop) so everyone can get back home at a reasonable time for family time, DIY, the pub etc..
  • Each drive will be restricted to 20 cars (to allow some to bring a passenger)
  • Drives are open to all models of Porsche, from classic to modern

Cheers Martin, but I'm pretty stacked out until September-ish on Saturdays already this year(!) so I'll have to give it a miss.

I'll drop you a message if I'm ever free on one to see if there's anything happening...
 
Hi Dave,

The first drive filled so quickly that I missed out myself.

I think that these drives will continue to be popular, so I would suggest that you are included in Jon Kenwell’s WhatsApp group rather than rely on me, given that I don’t always get to see my messages and emails due to other commitments.

I’ll PM you Jon’s number so that you can ask to be added to the group, that way you won’t miss out on any future R5 drives.

The intention is to keep this WhatsApp group on point and only relating to the Saturday drives.

Jon will be limiting it to details of the drive and who wants to attend only, he tells me that he won’t be allowing any other irrelevant chat on this platform.

I hope that’s okay.
