How do I 'defect' to Region 18 - New member

Hi,

New PCGB member - because of my postcode (OL) I was allocated to Region 5. But I'm actually on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border just shy of Burnley, Preston is only 45 minutes away compared to the hour to South Manchester or the 50mins to Leeds. It just makes more sense, to me, that my primary regional registration should be R18 rather than R5?

I've added R18 to 'my regions' thru my account profile ... is this all I need to do?

Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question but I don't want to cause any, unnecessary, confusion if I turn up in car with the R5 sticker I was issued?

I'm sure I'll have a bunch of other questions later - I've always enjoyed going to classic car shows etc (including a pilgrimage to Stuttgart Porsche Museum a couple of years ago) but never belonged to a 'club' as such before

Cheers,
Aaron :)

Hi Aaron

You will have been allocated to R5 because of your Post Code. This occurs sometimes, as post code does not always signify which venue for monthly meeting s most convenient. Cornbury House can change you over to R18 easily if you wish. I’m glad you are subscribing to R18 Mailchimp Newsletters. You will see from the R18 Events page on the PCGB website, under Communities Section some of the events we have coming up.

Please e-mail me and I can send you the previous years events calendar to give you an idea of what we j have done in the past. You will have seen we are visiting a Detailing business, near Blackpool this Saturday. If you would like to go to this and meet R18 members please e-mail me at R18@porscheclugbgb.com and I will send you full details. We will be meeting there at 13.00 and staying until 15.00 to comply with Covid restrictions. We are limited to 30 people but I have had a cancellation tonight so I could fit 2 of you in.

Cheers for both swift replies. I figured it was the postcode - that and living in a middle of nowhere that's between a number of somewheres.

Yes, if you could change my home region that would be much appreciated.

I would love to go on Saturday but I'm already committed to being standby transport for my lodger this weekend: their mother is in Royal Blackburn following a very bad stroke. Thank you very much for the invite though.

I have already signed up for the Sept Trackday at Blyton Park, which will be a first for me.

Cheers,

Aaron :)
