Hey so my first post in about 9 years.. where does time go hey.. anyway.. my series 1 lux has been sitting for about a year due to one thing and another, now it's running like it's hunting. Have attached link to video of it on YouTube. Any ideas? Thanks.

How old is the fuel? modern fuel doesn't like sitting around for long.

However try unplugging the AFM - my cab does similar when its not been run for a long time - unplug the afm it stops ( and engine ticksover fine) - clean up the connections it stays stopped.

If that doesn't fix it maybe the idle stabiliser doing something weird, so try unplugging that when warm it should still tick over.

Engine earths (lack of) also a good source of weird behaviour.

Thanks for reply. Fuel is mostly new (put in a month ago for mot). Unplugged AFM and it makes no difference. What's the other thing you mentioned.. where do I locate this?
Thank you. Dan

Pretty sure (its a while since I had an na 944 and mine was an oval dash) idle stabiliser will be under the inlet manifold towards the front, it will be a metal cylinder with an incoming and outgoing pipes on it on the turbo one runs direct to the intake manifold. is there a flat horizontal round cover towards the right hand side of the engine bay - if you open it there are electrical connections underneath shorting 2 of those together bypasses the idle stabiliser - if you have it I will dig out the details.

found a link
Idle Speed Adjustment (clarks-garage.com)

and it looks like the plug is oval dash only sorry
Thank you so much for help. Will check it out after work if it's not raining to bad. Mine is also an oval dash so fingers crossed ??
sorry read series 1 as square dash, let us know how it goes. Are you holding throttle closed (or almost closed) or wider open? I had been assuming idle. Also might be worth unplugging throttle position sensor - is it under the throttle body on a lux?

Regarding the idle control stabaliser, you should be able to hear that click when turning the ignition on but without turning it all the way to start, just so the ignition lights come on. You'll need a second pair of hands as you won't hear it from the cab...hope you get the car running soon..

Due to work and life getting in the way I've not had chance to look into this yet, but now we have some nice evenings, fingers crossed I will get onto it this week ??

So think I've found the stabilizer cylindrical thing under inlet manifold, but now can't check it as no one here to turn key for me... Also found the electrical plug you mentioned ??
So when I get ignition turned on I should feel this click?

Thanks
