The Boxster has gone!

So, I haven't been able to make many of the Zoom Meetings this year... Working from Home has it's advantages but losing track of time is not one of them! :ROFLMAO:

After nearly 3 years of Boxster ownership I decided I had a need for more power....however, with used prices having shot up over the last 12 months getting a Good 997.2 or an early 991.1 has been totally out of the equation. I did consider a 981 but my budget would only accommodate a 2.7 with relatively high miles, low spec and of course quieter and slower than what I already had.

The Boxster went up for sale late on the 16/04 for £17k and less than 48 hours later she was gone for £16k.... with the wheels still in red! This was a lot sooner than I was expecting, I thought it would be up for a few weeks and would possibly need a price reduction before I got any bites...this lead to a bit of panic...I had originally planned for Aston V8V but the bank wouldn't give me enough money. Auto Trader was also having problems in that the Traders could not update their adverts to every car I looked at was sold.
Then late last week I saw a nice 2013 Jaguar F-Type V6S popup on AutoTrader, i went to the Inchcape website where it said it was available and I reserved it there and then!

I took the long drive up to Kings Lynn on Saturday to have a good look over the car and decided she was a winner, hoping to have her delivered Friday. She's just had her service & mot and just waiting for the wheels to be refurbished & 2x new 20 inch rear tyres to be fitted... all inclusive of the purchase price including a years warranty [:D]

I'm planning on remaining a club member, I have made a lot of friends over the past three years... and I do intend to have another Porsche in the future. I had already paid for the WOTY in full, so assuming that still goes ahead later in the year I'll be there... hiding in the corner [;)].

I'll also still attend club nights as and when they return in person... i'll try to remember to come to the next zoom meeting! I was hoping to coming to the Cars and Coffee on the 23rd May to have a catchup with you guys & girls but sadly I have a conflict on that day.

I will say one thing, the Boxster will always have a special place in my Heart. I've always been a car guy, but never really gone to shows etc as never had a car that I felt worthy enough of attending them in. Since owning the Boxster, I have joined multiple car clubs, done many road rallies and events with yourself, Petrolheadonism & The Cannon Run and met probably hundreds of new friends and that all started right here at the Porsche club when Steve Gillings invited me to R24 & my very first event at Kimbolton a week after owning the car.

Thanks Tracy, I don't think I did anything directly with the Boxster Register as always ended up having conflicts! But have always admired how clean your Boxster and Cliffs Cayman R are!
