Hi, I have recently purchased my first Porsche - a 2005 997.1 C2S Coupe in Lapis Blue (image attached) - and today joined the Club so thought I should introduce myself. A 911 has always been a poster car from a young age, the first time I got up close to one was many years back as a young civil engineering site engineer when a client turned up on site in a black 964 with a whale tail - wow!! A 911 has been the dream car that I never envisaged owning - now at 53, kids growing up, I've justified it to myself that I can own one and its on my drive [:-]. My previous car being a C43 AMG Coupe, nice but it wanted to drive me rather than me drive it - so as that left I decided I wanted to go back to my youth with no touch screens and flappy paddles, after lots of searching I decided a 997.1 manual 2w drive was what I needed. Now looking forward to many years with her and getting involved with the community, events, and just enjoying driving a Porsche - really looking forward to being part of the community!! Thanks for having me.....

Welcome , you are at the right place for all things Porsche .
congratulations - my first Porsche was a 997.1 C2S manual also - great place to start ( and stay !)

Hi Adam, your story seems very similar to mine, now 4+ years into my 997.1 and still loving it.
Enjoy your car making sure to get out and drive whenever you can.
Mike

Thanks and yes Lapis Blue just jumped out when I first saw it - and had to have Lobster claws [;)]

Great introduction and welcome along Adam.

Car looks great and yes the lobster claws [8D]

Weathers got colder but is nicer this week.
Make the most of getting out in it while its nice.

I have a decent journey tomorrow to get mine serviced and then probably a longer journey out in to the countryside on Wednesday/Thursday while me and the mrs are off all week.

Get some more pics up when you can.
Do you have any plans for it or are you just going to look after it as it is?

Thanks James??, I wanted an unmolested car just as it left the factory, proper analogue with 3 pedals. It's not got masses of options but just enough for my needs - sports exhaust and PASM. Plan is to use it whilst keeping on top of her needs so she looks as good as she can [:)]
