Waiting time at Sheerness Port

My 992 has been at the port of Sheerness for 8 days without any indication when it will be transported to dealer.

What experience do you have of the waiting time here on a recently purchased car.

I have also not received an email for connecting to Porsche connect. I recall from previous purchasing, this was sent when the car was at the port.

It's frustrating isn't it? UK vehicle transportation seems to be quite haphazard atm and cars seem to coming though in larger batches at longer intervals. Mine was reported as being in transit earlier this week, so presumably it will have arrived in UK by now.

Huw, I assume yours is going into Cardiff, mine into Bristol so perhaps they will both be delivered from the same transporter! [:D]

I've not had a Porsche Connect email as yet, but I don't normally respond immediately anyway. The last time I did, it started the clock ticking on my free Connect Services period and reduced the unexpired time left before I'd even driven the car.

I originally wanted a March delivery, but I'm looking to register mine next month now.

Regards,

Clive

Hi,
How do you track them - is it via the dealer ?. I know the US have an app but I didn't think it was available in the UK.

Once your car is on the Porsche system, your Centre should be able to track its progress. Your sales person can provide regular updates - but some don't bother - maybe Covid affects things.

You can find Porsche's announcement of their new app in the link below. So far as I understand it, in UK it is only being trialled in one or two selected Centres atm.

Tracked through the dealer, I understand the tracking on line is not available in the Uk presently according to Porsche in Reading

Lovely Clive,

apparently mine arrived at Cardiff today, might have been on the same transporter.
