Evening All,

Just had a meeting with a good friend of mine who happens to be a Porsche owner and the MD of Swindon Powertrain. He would be happy for us to have a tour of his business as and when Covid restrictions are lifted and it is safe to do so, hence this post to see who would be interested to have a look around.
We will give priority to the SC register members and will then open up to other registers/club members if there are places left. We are looking at a total of 15 people (potentially may be able to extend to 20) so if this is something you would be interested to attend, let me know and I will forward more details when we can set a date.
A couple of links below so you can get an idea of what they do there (some really interesting stuff goes on in that place) :

Would you be happy to invite an interloper from the Cayman register (doffs cap..) to make up numbers? I don't want to upset anyone by voting uninvited!

Hi Graeme, absolutely. As mentioned I am trying to give priority to SC register but you will be first in line if we have extra room (very likely). Just keep an eye on this thread as I will put updats as and when we can set up a date (I think a Cayman would look cool surrounded by some SC 😉).

Great, thank You. I've added my vote. You're very kind!

I'd be very interested in attending, if GT3 from Devon might be allowed after Register members. I've had a Jaguar factory visit cancelled twice due to CV.

A GT3 and from Devon, not sure you qualify there 😋..........

Only joking of course, you are very welcomed, no worries, will put your name down on the list.

Thanks

Hi,

Could I also add my name to the list - another Cayman I'm afraid ......

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

no worries (started to think I should have done this one for the Cayman register 😆)

Thanks - that looks a nice Mk 1 by the way .... (or shouldn't I refer to Fords on this forum !!!)

Thanks, one of my other toys

(Pretty sure it is fine to mention other brands on here, at least I hope so 😉)

Thanks for the email and heads up for this.

I will be up for a visit to the factory in my 944 cab.

Im sure there will be plenty of R16 members interested to take any spare place.

Sounds good, will update as soon as we can set a date (not sure when this will be though.....)

Just confirmed the date for this visit to Swindon Powertrain.

It will take place on Thursday 16 September @ 15h00 (needs to be during the day to see some activity in there).

As said before, open to 911SC members first and will then open up to other models (limited to 20 guests in total). Tour will last for around 2 hours, just email me if interested to attend : 911sc@porscheclubgb.com

Should be some very interesting things to see there, including their newly announced Aston DB4/5/6 EVs conversion program (trying to arrange for one to be there on the day if possible): https://swindonpowertrain.com/uk/news.aspx

Only 10 spaces left on this one now so be quick it you have not secured your space yet

Just over a month to go for this one and we still have a few places left if interested.

The BD will be there and possibly some other project so should be interesting...

Thanks Franck for organising it. Interesting seeing the BTCC engine development and testing.

Let's keep an eye on their news posts next year for Porsche related information.
