Panamera brake wear sensor

Hi,

Does any one know at what point in MM's the brake wear sensors come on? I'm asking as my Panamera (970) today failed it's MOT due to the following "brake pads front and rear are worn down to the indicator", yet the sensors haven't come on. I understand the legal limit is 1.5mm and I would have thought the sensors would come on at that point or just before.

Any help advice would be appreciated.

It comes on when the metal disc makes contact with the sensor. If it has just reached the sensor but isn't touching it could still last a few hundred miles before coming on or even 1000's if you do motorway miles.

I have checked on mot site they can not fail your car on brake pads it is only a advisory to get charged soon

I've just checked the Gov website for MOT testing and it states under section 1.1.13 Brake linings and pads - (i) worn down to indicator = Major so fail[]
