Finding the original suppling dealer within the UK

Hello folks

I'm trying to trace the origins (within the UK) of my 1983 911 SC. This car was built October 82 (83 model) and used until 86 / 87 - where the gearbox / clutch failed and it sat parked up until I purchased it in 2018. Its not totally rebuilt with only 39,000 miles on the clock but zero service history. Porsche UK cannot tell me much other than confirm its certificate of authenticity etc

Is there anyway to find which dealer would have supplied her given its pre-electronic records.

Hi there, Sounds a nice car. Is it still registered with it’s original reg. number ? What are the first three letters ? This will at least, give a clue as to the area it was first registered in. There could be other SC’s within PCGB that share the same letters, and chances are, if so, they would probably know the origin of their car.
The thrill of the chase eh ?!
Good luck.

Hi, yes she has the original plate which is CPC - 'CP' which is Halifax I will start there thank you

I will post a few photos when I'm on the right PC - a few of the many thousand I took

Apply to the DVLA for your complete vehicle registration history, form V888. Has the names of all previous keepers, copies of the log books, records of any registration number changes. The supplying dealer stamp should be on the first log book - it's certainly on mine. Cost is about £5 and well worth it (even if it doesn't answer your question).

Pretty sure this service died about 4 years ago!

Here is one of her, taken a couple of weeks ago after 30 years of storage and 2 years of restoration

I wrote to DVLA a couple of years ago and they refused to give me any information on previous owners. Just wish I had applied when I first got the car in 1993!
