Hi All,

I purchased a Boxster 987.1 3.2S in October'20 and was bought a PCGB Membership as a gift over Christmas.
Just getting myself registered, updating details etc - but just thought I would post a brief hello.

I'm Tom from Cheshire, Sandbach. It has been a lifelong ambition to own a Porsche and looking to make some memories with my son.
I also work in the car industry (I've worked for Bentley Motors for nearly 16 years).

Not sure what is going on with the leadership of this region 5, looks quite serious from the last post.... under the current circumstances can't we just focus on a common interest and keep things simple? Are there actually members in this region still?

Just wanted to say hi and look forward to meeting any local members soon.
Best Wishes... Stay Safe.
Tom

Hi Tom and welcome to Porsche ownership & PCGB
yep - there’s a few things happening at the moment, but the dust will settle in R5, Covid WILL get sorted, and we can focus on enjoying life & cars as intended!
Look forward to meeting up soon as allowed
cheers
Graham

Welcome to PCGB Tom. Clearly not much is going to be happening in any regions for a few months but hopefully things will take off as lockdown eventually eases. Maybe you might come across the Pennines to see us in Region 7, Yorkshire. Club members are welcome to attend any regions events. It would be good to meet you in person.
You can edit your profile on the Club website so that you get emails etc from other specified regions as well as your home region.
Your car looks lovely by the way.

all the best,

Graham

Hi Tom,
Welcome to PCGB and Porsche ownership, your Boxster S looks great.
There are a good number of members based near you, I’m in Chelford and there are a number of others that live in Holmes Chapel and Congleton. There are also a number of other Bentley employees involved in region 5, including my daughter.
Our region is made up of a group of friendly members and the club usually puts on a wide range of regional events for us to enjoy.
I am sure that normal service will resume as soon as this Pandemic is under control and I look forward to meeting you soon.

Enjoy your Porsche.

Martin

Welcome Tom. R5 is a great bunch of friendly people with lots of active family members so worry not. And being a national club, you can usually join in with anything you fancy, whether it be organised by R5, another region, or at a national level. We look forward to meeting another Boxster owner when circumstances allow - maybe on one of the Zoom events if not on the road!

Thank you to the above welcomes and advice above... looking forward to getting involved later in the year.
Thanks again

Hi Tom

Congratulations and welcome to the Porsche Club , Porsche Club GB is excellent value for money so enjoy. I live in Audlem so not a million miles away , I have a 991 Carrera S and a Honda NSX , hardly used last year so here's hoping this year will be better, very uncertain at the moment . I have two relations at Bentley both Tom's

All the best

David

.... lovely to hear from you Tom....and I enjoyed reading your post...it has been a very testing time for everyone dealing with COVID. It is super so learn that you have achieved your ambition and bought your first Porsche. Hopefully some events will come up in the future that are of interest to you and we can meet up in person...
