Drivers window

Couple of days ago the drivers window lost its position info - kept stopping half up.

Did the 10 secs up and 10 secs down and it seemed to regain the correct positions - but have just found that whilst the one click up and down works correctly if you hold the lock button to fold in the wing mirrors then the drivers window drop back down to the half way position

What did I miss in the reset sequence?

Andrew,
Was there an event that led to the window malfunctioning, such as the battery being disconnected or flat?
If so try the following:-
Switch on the ignition
1) lower the window all the way down and release the switch
2) push the switch down, hold it there for 3 seconds, and then release
3) raise the window all the way and release the switch
4) pull the switch up, hold it for 3 seconds, and then release
5) switch off the ignition and then back on again.

If you're unable to put your finger on something specific, you'll need to look for a fault in the system. Check the connections in the fuse box and the switch panel. If all is well, then you may need to remove the door card. if this is going beyond your experience, then I suggest bringing in an OPC or experienced indy at this stage to help out.

I have a similar problem, but slightly different. When out yesterday I put the window down, then back up to half way. When I tried to close it, once it reached the top it came back down to half way again - and did the same when I tried to lock it and fold the mirrors in. I've tried to reset it as you suggest above but without success. Any ideas/suggestions?

Check the window is running freely within its runners with no sign of hesitation or jerkiness and it closes without any obstruction. Put a drop of WD40 around the switch, then operate the window up and down a few times. Recalibrate as above and if this doesn't work, you'll probably need to speak to your PC and get it booked in. Apologies - thought I had posted the OPC response

On "newer" cars you need to do the down and hold, up and hold process on BOTH windows simultaneously???
