Long delays

I had a call from my Porsche centre this morning to inform that they still have not been given building allocation for my 992.S. I placed my deposit end of July. I have been told, all centres are similar With long waiting lists for 911 and 718.

I will carry on enjoying my present 992S,

992 asking prices are quite high. I have been looking at moving my GT4 on a year earlier than planned to get into a car more suited for my likely use over the next 4 to 5 years. The examples below are new car I have specified v a used 2019 car with an almost specification.

New £107,665 + 1st year tax
Aventurine Green Metallic with Black / Iceland Green two-tone leather interior
Electric slide/tilt glass sunroof
Electric folding exterior mirrors
Trim strips in high-gloss finish
PASM sports suspension (10 mm lowered)
Sport Chrono Package incl. mode switch, Track  App & tyre temp display
Sports exhaust system (tailpipes in Black)
Rear-Axle Steering
20-/21-inch Carrera S wheels
LED Main Headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS)
Automatically dimming mirrors & integrated rain sensor
Light design package
4-way electric Sports Plus seats
Interior package Diamar lightsilver
Smoking package
Steering Column Casing Leather
BOSE® Surround Sound System

Gentian Blue Metallic with Slate Grey / Crayon two-tone leather interior
4,228 miles, 05/2019
£99,000 + Plus annual tax; List was £106,457
Electric slide/tilt glass sunroof
Electric folding exterior mirrors
Sport Chrono Package incl. mode switch
Power Steering Plus
Lighting and vision
LED Matrix main headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)
Automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors with integrated rain sensor
Privacy glass
Comfort and assistance systems
ParkAssist including Surround View
Porsche Entry & Drive
Sports seats (14-way, electric) with memory package
Seat ventilation
Heated steering wheel
Porsche Crest on headrests

The used v new price delta for me, is insufficient to keep looking for my perfect used car. I was told by a SE England Centre that they expected build priority on GTS models in 1Qtr 2021, but I guess the real reason for paucity of 1Qtr build slots is potential import duty and it being easy to favour supply to other markets whilst they have uncertainty in UK demand.

I placed my order in July and took delivery two weeks ago.

Prices are pretty strong for the 992 at present but no doubt like all new model Porsche‘s this will soon start to soften.

Mind you if demand outstrips supply and combined with no Brexit deal I can see the price of new cars rocketing with its knock on effect on the secondhand market.

This is my Aventurine Green car that I cleaned for the first time today.
