Front wings 1987 911 3.2 targa

I have a 1987 911 3.2 targa. There is corrosion in the front wings in the usual places, under the light bowls and to the rear of the front wheel arch. I have been offered 2 x new wings for a 911 964. Can anyone advise if the 964 wings will fit the 1987 911. I have read that they will fit with slight adjustment but don’t really know what this means. Any info or suggestions gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

They will fit fine, there is a fixing at the bottom for the plastic sill but your metal one should cover that up. The fuel filler area is different as in 1988 they went plastic, are you getting that section too?

Thanks for your help. The 964 wings do not have the fuel filler or flap so i presume i would need to also source that to make the fitting viable. It’s a dilemma as the original wings are all good apart from the areas of corrosion i mentioned. New wings may be the answer, or repair sections which are available, or fabrication. The car is off the road now til march so i have a little bit of time. Thanks. Colin
