Hi all

My first post as a new user.

I am going through the application process to get my personal import australian delivered 944 registered.

I need a few details for the early 85 944, I believe can be found on the V5 form of an already registered domestic model.

I need, Type approval number/category
Type
Variant
Version
Length
Width
HC (g/km)
Unladen weight
Revenue Weight
NOx (if given?)

Basically the stats given on any regular 944 as the ROW models (non US) were all the same.

If anyone could share these, or a copy of this section of the V5 (personal details removed)

I would be most grateful

Here are a few pictures of the car build progress.
I rebuilt the engine, fitted and made the harness for a Haltech ECU, then moved it all over here, now in bedfordshire.
Looking forward to getting back on the road soon.

It seems I can only upload one, sorry.

Hi Will
My car is an S2 so the data off the V5 will be different.
However, I see you're a member, so I suggest you do the following:
1. Contact the Club...might be worth having the serial number to hand. They are very helpful.
2. Contact Mike Pollock (944 Register Secretary). He's had several early cars, now runs S2s (is it three now Mike?!) I'm sure he'll know what to do. (click on Community in the task bar at the top of the Forum, then Model Registers).
Look forward to seeing the car...you've fitted Carrera GTR headlights. Any more mods planned?

Thankyou Graham, thats very helpful, I will do that.

Yes, fitted by the PO, but I quite like them.

I have a few things in the pipeline, but its mostly restoration oriented. At the minute the big project is just to get the paperwork sorted and ready for Mot. Then I will have alot of configuration of the ECU etc which im looking forward to.

How is your car going for you?

Just had its annual service/MOT at Northway. Worth doing this at an independent specialist, I've found...there's a few who have specialist knowledge of transaxle cars, so there's never a problem they haven't already dealt with many times! Also, they probably have a local MOT tester used to testing old Porsches...for example the handbrake on mine is not brilliant, but was probably like that from new. Mike could probably recommend someone near you.
I always have a "guilt list" for the car. Still on its original clutch at c.120k, would like to refresh the suspension, and some minor trim items waiting for my trimmer to recover from an op. Oh, and new tyres would be a good idea.
