Advice re PPF rear arches

I await delivery and the order is locked down. I considered the rear arch protection offered by Porsche but could only find black on the site. The car is Crayon. I am considering aftermarket clear PPF on the rear arches only. Two parts to the question. The dealer is ceramic coating the car:

  • Anyone had experience of the PPF rear arch?
  • Will the ceramic coat cause an issue?
Cheers

Check with your Centre, however I believe the model comes with clear PPF fitted as standard to the rear arches - alternative black foil is offered as an option.
If you are considering additional PPF, it is better not to ceramic coat those surfaces.

Clive

Thanks, I shall check with the dealer, I shall be surprised if anything is free!

If you are thinking about PPF in other areas, say front end and are using Gtechniq products, the firm makes a coating called "Halo" that is for PPF areas and provides similar protection to the one used for paintwork.

When my 992 arrives (October build) it’s going straight to Black Magic Detailers in Carlisle to have Xpel PPF applied to the sills, front and back of the rear wings. They are also doing one or two other little items too.

As part of the factory build I have selected factory PPF option for the front of the car so it will be well protected.

I am told that Xpel PPF is what is used at the factory. It is the self healing type.

I had this on my last 992 and the self healing really worked well which was a real surprise to me.
