992 campaigns or recalls to you and me.

I was surprised to learn that when I booked the car in for a recall that Porsche wrote to owners about (engine mounts and caps) there were also a number of other campaigns (as the service people call them) that also need doing (see below).

Have others been made aware of these campaigns?

  • Re-program control unit for assistance systems
  • Re-code airbag control unit
  • Updating software for various control units
  • Replace pulse sender
  • Replace engine mounts and retrofit caps
  • Check cowl panel frame and rework it if necessary

Hi Bow,

From my Ownership woes thread (https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1038646), I'm aware of the "Re-program control unit for assistance systems", this was performed in March for me it was documented to include the fix for 'Night view assist fail on startup', and the "Replace engine mounts and retrofit caps" was performed early July.

What is interesting, the "Replace engine mounts" was previously being performed when you got the fault displayed, however it appears to now be applied to all cars, and from other members feedback, previously replaced engine mounts are being replaced a second time.... Guess they'll get it right eventually.

From previous visits to the OPC they normally have a list of 'updates' to perform, the reason I'm holding off taking my replacement 992 in for as long as possible is from my experience the car will never be the same again when you pick it up....

In this thread (https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1062440) I complain their July campain update (Microsoft would call it a Feature Update), they added a red bar to the bottom of my rearview camera, they couldn't say why it was added just it was a new 'feature' to hide the back of the car from the camera :( I'm hoping at somepoint another update will remove the red bar again.

Good luck!

Lee.

Hello Lee,
That doesn’t sound good, esp about the engine mounts and camera.

i’ll read the threads mentioned in detail, thanks for the reply.

Mine is in for the campaigns 1st September. For the engine mounts and the other listed items, these will be the third set of dynamic mounts fitted.

There is suppose to be a software update for the PCM between week 35 and 40.
[blockquote]I received this from Porsche connect in March that an update to my long outstanding issue with the PCM Porsche connect will be release week 35 to 40. I hope this will be included in the update.
