Tore Bergvill - LEDs vs HIDs

Hi all

I've been in touch with Tore Bergvill recently to research his opinion on LEDs, specifically when used in the high-beam to complement Tore's dipped-beam HID system, rather than the regular (but bright) Halogens I currently use for high-beam.. Here it is ...

[blockquote]We have tried a LOT of LED solutions in the 993 headlight, and none has come up to HIDs with respect to light output patterns, colour and output intensity. This is especially the case for the low beam projector lens.
We have tried LED's in the high beam reflector light too, and are not pleased with the results of the same reasons.
Halogen bulbs are so far the best lamp to use in the high beam. HIDs and LEDs are producing a lot of light in the car's near field, this is not where we need our full beam lights.
We are working to find a new vendor for our T-LIGHT product, and have a couple of candidates. We hope to get this ready within a month or so.
[/blockquote]
Hope this is useful

Shame, but HIDs are the mutts nuts.
The bergvillfx site seems to be down, I hope he's not gone bust
