992 interior Road Noise

Love the 992 but her indoors does not like the noise, road noise, particularly as 21” rear wheels. I am happy with it all! But does anyone know of a sound absorbing/deadening blanket type that I can throw over the rear shelf, seats and rear passenger footwell? Need one I can quickly take out when I am alone in the car and not stuff that goes under carpeting and/or is self-adhesive.

You may be able to reduce the noise from the symposer (I think that’s the correct term), by blocking it. I did this on my 991.2 and it made a significant difference, only taking about 10 minutes to do. I don’t know whether the 992 one is similar, as I have found the noise much less annoying.

FWIW the 991 symposer was a tube that came from the engine compartment, opening into the cabin behind the parcel shelf, which just pulled out. I stuffed some medium density foam in the pipe.

For the sake of a quick investigation you might find a partial solution. Hope this helps.

I don't think it'll be possible to eliminate road noise - it's inherent in all 911's.

992 is certainly better in this respect than its predecessors, but the chassis is designed with performance rather than comfort in mind - it is a high performance sports car after all. [;)]

If you remove the rear seats and add some additional sound deadening, you may be able to dampen it down a little, but your best bet is to take the wife's car whenever you venture out together! [;)]:ROFLMAO:
