good evening . Just arrived home to a letter from north Wales police. Very politely explaining that the local community in Ruthin have a speed gun and reported me for speeding.. no action is to be taken because it was not the police ..

No warning signs just three members of the community standing on the verge by the church opposite the griffin pub with high visibility jackets and a clip board and speed gun the wrote my num down as I passed by at 30 I said to my wife bet i get reordered as speeding

As a deterrent … that `works` for me, apart from the discrepancy between your speedo and their gun !

My North Beds village is approximately 1/4 mile square with approach roads at three of the four corners. We have no less than 4 average speed cameras - on the eastern and western sides and on two of the three approach roads - but we still have a Community Speed Watch of the type Dave describes who are out and about in the village at different times and locations. Talk about OTT..!

The village of Hilton, Cambs has a similar 'watch group'..... no speed gun but they stand in view of the [:)] 30mph sign & record number plates I assume.....

Just wish I could find the hours in the day......:ROFLMAO:
