Replacement brake hoses.

Hi Guys

I am thinking of replacing some of my brake hoses. What is the wisdom of the forum say on this?

Is it easy to do it yourself?

Where is a good place to get them?

I'm not considering Superthunderstingthing hoses, just normal ones.

Thanks for your help.

If you mean just the flexi hoses, Im about to do mine.

They should be easy apart from the need for an "assistant" to help bleed the brakes afterwards (unless you have a fancy brake bleeder device).

I went for goodridge braided hoses - I think around £85 for the set of 4.

Planning to fit them in the next few weeks.

+1 for goodridge, I fitted mine years ago, perhaps 20 years. I recall there being some concern expressed from members about them being known to fail, in fact a respected indy said as much about a set they fitted. This was back in Titanic days.....this is rubbish, they can only fail (assuming no defect which is the same for any brake hose) if fitted wrongly, you need to make sute that they are routed correctly, have no twists and are long enough to allow for max suspension travel. Having fitted braided hoses to my Ford's for many years I naturally saw no problem in fitted them to the 951, no matter what the voice of opinion thought
Fit Goodridge and enjoy the firmer braking..

fitted goodridge hoses to my 951 years ago and felt the difference in a firmer pedal 100% i rate them highly

Daniel??

go with Goodridge, works out cheaper than genuine porsche and its an easy job, just need a mate to bleed the brakes
