Information/help required regarding service costs for a manual 996 C4S Cab 2003, I am new to the ownership of a 911 and wondering of the average costs of Major service, (don't what to be ripped off).

Can anyone provide details of who they have used and any experiences they would like to share.

Looking at other forums some say Main Dealers and other say specialists. The two I have approached have been JCT Newcastle and Redline racing Teesside.

Also be looking at the replacement coolant and brake fluid while it is in their hands.

Any help info would be greatly received.

Hi Dennis,

Welcome to the forum.

I think that you'd probably get a better response posting either on the 996 forum or your Regional (North East?) forum.

Jeff

Hi Dennis

Welcome to R3.

We live in Teesside and the region has a great relationship with OPC Teesside. They attend R3 meetings on a very regular basis and are great supporters of our events, including hosting one of our monthly meets, (once they're allowed again) each year. Ross Jameson, the Principal, is a great guy and quite a few members use them for servicing, spares and repairs, or have purchased cars there, myself included.

However, I have always used Nelson Porsche: Skinner Street Ceramic House, Stockton On Tees, TS18 1EG, for servicing, since way before the OPC opened, and have stayed loyal to this independent because of the personal service I've experienced.

Jamie Nelson is a second generation Porsche independent specialist, and is very knowledgeable. The workshop is a very different experience when compared to a Porsche Centre and you have to book a service slot well in advance as Jamie works alone and is in high demand. He gives very personable service and has always been willing to go the extra mile for me.

We hope you find something suited to your needs.

On a separate topic, is that a new Vantage in your profile pic too?

Hope to meet soon.

D&G Porsche specialists North Shield, Newcastle upon Tyne are the preferred choice for many of our members in R3,R18,R1. Give Gary a call in 0191 340 6454.

Cheers John I will make contact with Jamie Nelson, I will be hopefully attending some events/meetings when we get back to normality, work permitting as I work away quite a lot.

Yes that's the new Vantage on my second AM now.

Thank you.

Dennis.

Hi - along similar lines what is R3 members feedback on OPC Newcastle to deal with and costs for servicing?

OPC Teesside have really impressed me and are very active with R3 but in comparison I haven’t really seen OPC Newcastle as active.

My 997.2 C4S service and MOT is due shortly (I’m still in OPC warranty) and I live in Newcastle so it is much more convenient to use OPC Newcastle but would appreciate any feedback on them.

Steve

Steve if the service department is anything like their parts department I will be impressed, I ordered OEM mats and they phoned me back when they said they would, also phoned me when they arrived.

I tried to get a quote for service but unfortunately I never had my Vin/chassis number (away from home) the registration never came up on their system due to the possible private reg it had on with the previous keeper. Try and have your V5 handy when trying to book in just in case.

Dennis.
