Hello R 24 Member,
And welcome to our first "virtual club night” of 2020.
We hope you are all keeping well in these challenging times and we want to try to keep our Porsche family together and interests fired up. So no doubt those of us who are "confined to barracks” will have a long list of jobs to be getting on with both inside & outside our homes. For those who are still leaving the house to work you have our admiration & respect. Perhaps as important is the way we need to look after our cars with most of them getting little or no use.
We would like you to tell us what you are doing with your cars so as we can pass on your TIPS to all concerned. Just email me with you suggestions (nothing smutty !!) and I will collate them altogether and circulate them to all concerned.

Just as a reminder the following is a list of events which we had organised and a number which hopefully we can get re-established later this year or transferred to 2021:-
Cars and Coffee morning meetings in Bedford
Drive & Dine events
Bedford Festival of Motoring – now 2021
Kimbolton Country Fayre – now 2021
Regional Concours & location
Guest speakers for the winter programme.
The following is a list of events that your committee are reviewing for inclusion in our Events Calendar :-
Peterborough Greyhounds
Quiz nights
Historic house visits eg. Burghley House , Holkam Hall, Kelmarsh Hall & Gardens, Lamport Hall
Gaydon Motoring Museum
Coventry Transport Museum
Ten Pin bowling evening
Bedfordshire Police HQ visit
Brewery visits
Shuttleworth Collection + Pub lunch
Bella Barista coffee company
Knebworth Park Classic Car show
We cannot guarantee that we can get all the above re-instated or organised but the committee will use its best endeavours in this respect. Don’t forget all the National events that made up the year’s offerings but most of them should re-appear in 2021. If you have any comments about anything or would like the committee to consider any other events/locations please get in touch.
R24 WOTY – I will be sending out a separate email to those members who have a booking for the Isle of Wight.
And finally some of you might have heard of ZOOM or even use it now. This is a video conferencing system that Porsche Club GB uses and can bring together many people at the same time to be able to discuss & interact with each other. We are hopeful that Region 24 can use this application to bring us all together whilst we are "social distancing” and take part in a virtual club night. Once I have more details of when it can be rolled out and what equipment you need to be able to log on ,I will be in touch. Please note I already have a challenging motoring quiz for you all to take part in – it will definitely test your knowledge in this respect.
In the meantime Stay Safe .Best wishes to one & all
Edward, John, Steve & Wayne
R24 Committee
