We had a great weekend driving circa 300 miles to Portmerion in North Wales and back in our 992 which apart from a flat battery incident a couple of months ago has been fabulous to date.
Then this afternoon when we were almost home, we pulled into our local petrol station to fill the car up with fuel ready for next weekends adventures and on restarting the car the three messages mentioned above and in the attached image came up on the screen. Now we cannot lock the car with the key or the spare key, although the car will still start and drive. Luckily we keep our car in a locked and alarmed garage.
It looks like our car will be off to the Porsche Centre Wilmslow tomorrow... ??

Sorry to hear that Martin........ As I have mentioned on another forum post, I have been having problems with the SOS warning coming on, especially when doing our trips up to the Llyn Peninsular!

The first time it corrected when I returned home, but on the last trip in early January, it occurred again and seven weeks later still comes on every time I start up.

It is booked into my local OPC on March 3rd, but if you hear of any reasons why its happening please let us know.

Pleased you had another good weekend at Portmeirion.

Regards David

Hi Martin

Is the green light on the SOS button above your head out. I experienced the problem once, and noticed the green light out. I put it down to a bad signal.

Google "porsche padm fault" and you will get an idea of how common it is for people to have problems ( often multiple ) with the dynamic engine mounts . be interested to see if this is the route of your issue this time ( and maybe your battery drain before ) ... This is something Porsche has been sweeping under the carpet for a while, it feels, reading on several forums .

I have checked the Green light today on mine, and it is glowing but still getting the SOS Fault message......

Thank you all, for your help and advice, I’m afraid that the saga continues...

We we’re called by Vodafone / Tracker at 3:00am to say that the car had dropped off their system, it turned out that the battery had gone flat again, which seemed strange given that it had just been driven back from North Wales.

Within an hour of calling Porsche Assistance, the man from the AA arrived and started the car with a jump pack only to discover that the battery wasn’t charging at all. So the car was taken to Porsche Centre Wilmslow to be checked over when they can get round to inspecting it. Porsche Assistance were great, the AA man was fabulous and couldn't have been more helpful and a few hours later a nearly new 220d Mercedes E class was parked on the drive.

Fingers crossed that our Porsche Centre can identify and resolve the problems.

I shall keep you all advised of our progress.

Martin

Martin,

Sorry to hear you're also experiencing a few problems. Fingers crossed they track down and resolve the cause.

Lee.

I am pleased to report that I got my car back on Friday, I was told that it was a PCM issue and that the Fault shouldn’t re occur. Fingers crossed....
Unfortunately we were away at the weekend and I’m away on business this week so haven’t been able to try it out.
I’ll let you know if there are any further issues.
