Cayman 981S 4 Year Service

Any advice on what I should be paying an OPC for a 4 year service on the above. The car hasn't done may miles but I'm sure that won't make a difference to what they charge. Do they have fixed price servicing still or is that up to the specific OPC?

Gary,

The official price for a 4-year/40,000 mile service at a participating Porsche Centre should be £975, which includes the brake fluid and spark plug change.

You need to contact your Centre to see whether or not they're one of those who participates.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff, I'm in Manchester so I'll check with Wilmslow and Chester to see if they participate.

Regards,

Gary

Gary,

Try Bolton too, they’re usually pretty reliable and sensible when it comes to pricing.

Stuart.

I got stung by this earlier in the year. I think it was almost £1300 by the time you added vat and maybe a couple of checks.

This will not be happening again.

I had a long debate about this with my supplying dealer. When I bought the car they were publishing fixed prices, but only 'participating dealers'. (its appeared to exclude those in reach of London)

Some items that appear in my manual as being on the schedule such as aux belt check were quoted as 'additional', as was the brake fluid change. I'd shop about and also check what is 'included' in the base cost.

I think originally they quoted £1,400 which was reduced to £1,200 with a 'free' belt check. A long way off the published costs at the time. I paid up but go elsewhere now.

Attached … as of last November when I researched for my then CS six year service. Appears to have been removed from the current Porsche UK site.

In my experience dealers in Scotland don't participate in the fixed price service scheme either and those items marked additional even though they are required at that mileage/age are always charged separately so the service price is just that, the oil/filters and other checks

My experience was … Perth did participate @ £775, Aberdeen did not @ £1075 but when challenged matched Perth`s price - NB they are both owned by the same group.

I’m starting to get prices for my 981 to have its 8 year service .... been quoted around £1250 ! That includes brake fluid and spark plugs .... do we have a list of participating dealers who do the fixed pricing ? Anyone one have a recent fixed pricing scheme spread sheet ? Can’t seem to find anything .

thanks :)

See my Post #2 above, although that was some time ago and could have been revised upward.

I can’t find my list of Centres which offered fixed price servicing at that time, but they were in the majority. I’d phone around to get some alternative quotes; just make sure that they’re quoting like-for-like.

Jeff

I phoned Porsche uk ... seems they don’t do fixed services anymore . So it’s a free for all . Phoned 3 opc and all the same , around £1200 ouch :(

on a plus note though ... if you want to continue your Porsche approved warranty you don’t need a 111 inspection anymore . You phone up and have your driving license and v5 ready and can buy it there and then . You can also purchase it well in advance of your existing policy running out . Just buying another 2 years myself , 6 months early , before they no doubt increase the price of it !!

Disappointing to hear that, especially since my ageing 987.2 CS will be due a very expensive 10-year/20k mile service this time next year. I’d better start saving now. [:(]

Jeff

Just to throw in a little more information, I had my 6 year old 981 GTS serviced and MOTd at Nottingham yesterday. (It's done 43,000 miles if that's any help). The MOT was £56, but the bill totalled £1018.01p in total. The extras on top of a small service were belt and brake fluid changes this time. Great service and people though, so I'm happy enough.
