Porsche Classic Register Renewal

Has anyone successfully renewed their Porsche Classic Register membership and how did they do it? I have just noticed that my membership expired 4 weeks ago but I have heard nothing from Porsche GB or my local OPC. I have also found that, in spite of having Porsche Classic status, the OPC seems to be ill-informed about the Classic Register in general and I have had to point out to them that membership entitles the holder to a 15% discount on parts each time I have had work done or made a purchase.

Hi
I have just had my membership renewed by my OPC Dealer.
However you must have a minimum of an oil change carried out at the dealership.
I had my car serviced so it qualified anyway.
It's all in the membership pack you would have received when you joined or on the Porsche website.
If your centre is is not a Classic centre then they may not be upto speed on the Classic system.

My car was serviced at Bristol but the renewal came from Swindon as its a Classic centre

Worth mentioning the 15% discount is for Porsche Classic parts only, dont expect it on other parts.

My experience on this also a bit chaotic. My PC (a Classic centre) appeared to have no idea what I meant when I'd had a 24K service and asked to be enrolled in the Classic Register. They did eventually phone me to say they had enrolled me, but nothing ever arrived. But, as I had much more important things to complain about as a result of that interaction, I didn't chase it. And I won't be returning for a renewal. Shame really as it appeared from AG to be something they were genuinely trying to use to re-engage some classic owners.

Sounds like I had a similar experience to you when obtaining a quote from an OPC for a major service on my 21 year old Boxster that I’ve owned from new.

When I booked mine in earlier in the year, I advised I was using them to get on the classic register and to take advantages of its benefits. I had a small pack arrive soon after with a keyring, book and some other things. I didnt receive my plate holders, so rang the centre and I was allowed to pick them up from them. A few weeks ago, I got another delivery of a book/catalogue with a 5 stamped on it, as an update to parts etc and news. So my experience has been okay so far. As for renewal, as has been mentioned, you need a minimum of an oil service at at a centre each year

Although my car doesnt need a service till next year, I am considering obtaining a quote for a service and joining up to the classic membership. I am finding myself replacing lots of parts and the 15% wouldn’t go amiss.

Hatfield is my closest dealer with the full classic status, but I seem to be hearing some positive things about Swindon which is also a classic dealer. Just would mean a bit of a ride out.

I see they have now replaced the certificate of authenticity with a more thorough certificate. Although it sounds to me like you take it for the inspection and potentially come away with a hefty quote to ruin your day.
