992 Video : PPF Fitting

I am shocked they did not even prep the bodywork apart from a wash ??no decontamination at all. l would strongly advise a 1st stage machine polish on the bodywork to ensure the paint looks it’s best. All ready for the film to be applied on to.

Perhaps that was all done offline so that they could just cover the PPF install?

My local detailer has a special area for applying PPF to keep the risk of dust etc down to a minimum and his guys wear special overalls and gloves for the same reason. He also said that they would go through the same level of prep for PPF as they would for a ceramic coating to ensure the paint was as good as possible.

It’s such a minefield, not only because you are trusting your pride and joy to someone you do not know but it’s also hugely expensive to have this type of protection applied.

I had PPF put on my 911 by CleanDetail in South Yorkshire and it cost circa 5k for the full car. Id agree with others that the car has to have at least a stage 1 prep before film is fitted
