Club Night

Last night was our Monthly Clubnight, we had 12 Members in attendance which considering the Weather wasn’t bad.
For the last few Months we have used the West area venue of The Westerwood, Cumbernauld, which has proved a success with Members attending from the East area commenting that it’s actually within easy reach for them.
It was mentioned last night however that this was to to change again after last nights meeting, it was actually one of the committee/ helper that brought this up and we’re all in the dark over this as no RO present, apologies sent or representative put in place.
Further discussion brought up points like, Why do we not have an ARO anymore, it’s been almost a year since Scott Laurie resigned, but no replacement sought, it was discussed that with the current split in the Region we could have an ARO East and West.
it was also mentioned that there has been no change to the Facebook setup that was discussed at the last Regional Meeting.

It was good to see a reasonable turnout(12) at last night’s joint meeting at the Westerwood hotel despite the poor weather. It was also nice to see a couple of east members in attendance in addition to myself and interesting that they commented on the ease of getting to the venue. I suppose we couldn’t expect more as the east venue was only getting between 4 and 6 attending their meetings.

As the region has no ARO and the RO was not in attendance (no reason or apology given), it is difficult to progress some of the concerns that a number of members have expressed.

Please be careful that criticism of you ROs none appearance last night does not break the forum rules.

Perhaps it may be wise that the committee and the RO meet to discuss the sharing out of tasks within the region.

Hi Peter, I’m a little disappointed that is what you take from my Report of the Clubnight, we have had Several meetings and discussions over the last year or so regarding this Region and nothing happens , there is no official committee in place either, as stated above the previous ARO resigned over a year ago, and we know why.

if this is an unacceptable statement then fine, but it’s just scratching the surface.

please feel free to private message me.

I enjoyed the meeting. Good chat and some great anecdotes. It was easy to get to (not as easy as Charwood as I can walk there but an easy drive nevertheless!)

Some good ideas were banded about too. My take away was:

East/West meetings should be on different nights. I'll gladly go through to Westerwood again (it was the first night I could attend in recent times) esp if the weather isn't too rubbish and it would allow free choice of which meetings to attend (indeed both)

Maybe we should formalise AROs (for East and West)? The Club is very active and a few are trying to help the RO and we can always do more / do things better

Discussion if we could do more with the OPCs - one suggestion was a talk on the Boxster cars they've prepped for racing. Personally I'd like the chance again to drive some of their demonstrators

Any good ideas for events, and/or willingness to get involved in organising would be very welcome

Hi, I wanted to arrange an overnight in Great Britain, but they require me to write their postcode. what should I do? Why? how do I even know it? Well, there is no way out. I started looking for it and found https://postcodefinder.net/england/bristol, who is from the UK, is everything correct here? By the way, how was your flight? Were there any problems?
