Bose Sound System Issue

Hi There

I have an old 03 Boxster S, which I love. It has the CDR 23 Radio/CD Unit. There is also the factory fitted Bose speaker system. The Radio/CD unit lights up as if on, but, there is no sound coming out of it. Removed the unit and there was no speaker leads connected to the system. Any help/information on what I should be looking for to connect to the Bose sound system.

Hi

That will be because it doesn't have speaker leads - its all done via the fibre optic cables (the orange pair of cables that plug in the back of your head unit). This is a MOST system that transmits all the signals between the headuni/amp/sat nav(when present) and cd player etc.
Check the integrity of the fiber optic loop to make sure it is connected properly - with no breaks in the signal (if you open them you can see a red light inside).
Ideally it can be checked on the diagnostic system as this runs an analysis of the loop for you.
The amps on that system can be a bit temperamental/malfunction at times - but you need to ensure that the connections are all present and operating first.
