Have posted this in wanted section but probably more response in here. See other thread for reasoning. Hoping some good soul has a single, buckshee, not bent front CS rim that needs a new home!

Please post a pic of the damage I may be able to fix it? are they in original polished & anodised finish or have they been painted?

There's a set on the bay (Not cheap) as people know they are rare..

There's some on German ebay but they've been painted in a dark grey

Here you go. The wheels have been powdercoated a couple of times and hence not the original anodised finish.

The German ones look lovely. Quite a price to sort one damaged rim though!

The UK set, is a set of 3, 2 rears badly gouged. He had them on for £450 a few weeks ago and sent me a PM offering them at £350. I PM'd back to offer him £100 for the single front rim or £250 for all 3. He never replied and re-listed them at £950! Seems quite a logical thought process, not!

Ok so the lip's been pushed inwards and you can clearly see the flat spot, although when spun up on a balancer the whole rim could even

be slightly twisted (side to side movement) and / or the inside rim may also be out of shape all dependant on what you hit and how deep etc..!

Heat, plastic hammers and hydraulic assistance with dollies will make a mess of the paintwork then you'd have to get either this one recoated or at least 2 on the same side to match

or all 4

I bet your not near me (North West, Near Chester - Wrexham) ? if you are I can inspect it and tell you more if it's do-able or not. I can arrange my courier (DPD) to collect anywhere Uk mainland

also if your miles away and can't find anyone near that has the expertise and machinery to straighten wheels. I've been doing it for 12 years now and must be getting close to over 500+ successfully repaired...

Yes very often people sell wheels on the bay because they are damaged, distorted, cracked etc..and very often they say in the description "Easy repair" I think NOT!

I am pretty sure somebody on here Dundee way had a set for sale that had been re-furbed a couple of years back. I remember thinking they were an excellent price and as I was passing en-route to Aberdeen that week - I was very tempted but with 3x17" 1x18" and 1x16" sets for 2 cars I figured I had enough wheels already. They were going to put them in the attic if they didn't sell I think.

May have been D90s but I don't think I would have been tempted if they were!

Anyone with a better memory than me?

Tony

The guy that had a Turbo S, then 944 Cup and a 964? Who sent me a PM saying he as going to find me no matter how long it took, when I questioned one of his adverts [8|].

Thanks for all your replies. See my post on "steering shudder" thread for today's positive outcome. 2 egg shaped Toyo's added to a slightly bent rim to blame. With fresh rubber the damaged rim has been setup in spec on a road force balancer and the shudder is gone. Would like the rim fixed or replaced at some point as the other 3 are spot on but for the time being will enjoy a shudder free drive!

For info the 1 year old rear Toyo's were perfect. It was 3 year old fronts that were a mess.

Yes Martin. Both miles out of round. Seem to recall I got them quite cheap, but brand new, from ebay. Possibly old stock. Anyway glad its sorted and the rim lives to fight another day!

There is a date stamp on all tyres

4 numbers in an oval surround

2416 = week 24 2016

and to used in Europe must have the correct E markings

loads of scam tyres on the bay

Yes I never thought to check the date. To be fair they gripped fine and the wear rate was consistent with all previous Toyo's I've had. Suppose I'll never know now! They were bought from JJC race and rally who seems a reputable enough vendor. March 16th 2016, £49 each plus vat. which was certainly about £20 quid a pop cheaper than anywhere else at the time. May have lay for years before I got them which never helps.

no, someone else!

That's Sandy that was selling those wheels. He was right into 44's for a long time and I got some 55lb injectors from him. Nice chap who seems to have moved on from the scene. Blade's stalker was not this chap.............
