hi
just bought a 997 Carrera 4. Smitten already. New to the car club thing. Interested in knowing what the region has to offer if there are any links.
Also keen to know if there are any independent Porsche specialists anyone can recommend in the East Midlands so I can make sure i stay on top of the jobs that need sorting.
Many thanks
jason

Hi Jason and welcome to Porsche Club GB and in particular Region 8 [:)]

Very glad to hear you're enjoying your 911 - they are wonderful fun aren't they.

Many of our regional owners (me among them) are great fans of Zentrum in Calverton (0115 965 2997) who are skilled Porsche trained engineers who can cope with all models of Porsche. They also do a lot of work on several of the hillclimb and sprint Porsches campaigned by a hardy core of R8 members.

If you are interested, we hold regular monthly meetings on the first Monday of the month at the Coopers Arms, Weston on Trent, DE72 2BJ. The meeting starts at about 8 0r 8.30 depending on the weather as we do like a bit of tyre kicking and chat in the car park before the brief formalities - then more chat! The Coopers does a very good carvery meal which many members enjoy from about 7.00. We do from time to time have speakers - watch out for details of those on our forum page and the newsletter which is mailed out from time to time. We have recently been welcoming around 50 Porsches each month.

We organise several other very popular events around the region - check these out from the calendar at the top of the R8 forum page. If you are a Facebook user, you can also keep up with what we've all been up to on our Facebook page R8PCGB once you have registered with the moderator.

I hope this gives you a flavour of our region - it would be good to see you next Monday if you are able to come. Make yourself known to me or Tom when you arrive.

Cheers

Laura
