I’m debating a trip next year to the Le Mans classic (early July). Anybody else? Is there a PCGB gang going? A transaxle mob attending? Anyone know of a decent organisation to book through or anyone care to share advice?

thank you.

It's on my bucket list as well, but have to see what they come up with that does not involve a tent - we're too old for that lark! We camped there some years ago for the Le Mans 24, the site was fantastic - and from what I gather is better now than it was then! Best part was being at the end of the dusty roadway so there was no passing traffic and very little dust, plus seeing the dusty queues at the toilet/shower facilities of other campsites on the way out compared to the superb facilities we had.

My wife and I are planning to go to the Classic in my Boxster 987.2 next year. My brother and I will be going to the normal 24h in June for the 16th time.

It's a great event - I've been twice. We went with Pistonheads last year - their site was on bleu nord but fenced off & secure. PH had a big marquee with catering & a bar, so we just had to take basic camping equipment.

Lycian have a big marquee with wine and beer bar (when we were there cask Cornish bitter at £4 a pint, excellent!!) as well as food and big screen TV's (watched Vettel bin it in the Canadian GP so Button got through and won, the place went mental!!), all at reasonable prices, plus it's fenced with their own security 24/7, "facilities" that are floodlit 24/7, useful when herself needed the loo at 3am, and gate guards so no unwelcomes can get onto the site. It also happens to be run by 2 PCGB long term members and is PCGB's authorised site! Only fun bit I had getting there was actually finding the entrance to the site area at IIRC Beausejours.

It"s way better than the normal 24 IMO, worth a wander around the campsites all sorts of wonderful cars !
Should be around half a dozen of us going down.
