Apple car play and Sat Nav info on the 992

Just wondering ;

1) Has anyone got Appleplay working ? I Have an iPhoneX and it links up perfectly to the preinstalled Appleplay on my wife’s XC90 but can’t see how to do on the 992 ?

2) I’m always a bit dubious about car sat nav systems as experience has taught me they really have an odd way of calculating the best route. As such I usually default to using google maps on my phone which I find to be pretty much bang on. Does anyone know if the sat nat system on the 992 gets its info from googlemaps and if not how accurate have you found the car sat nav ? Earlier I set a route for about 25/miles on the car sat nav and also google maps on my phone and they still chose different routes. I defaulted back to using the phone but will try the car nav next time - just wondering what other owners experiences might have been .

It is working on my 992. The App only comes up once the phone is connected with a cable.
I had a couple of problems which were fixed by:-
1 Ensuring that the screen was not locked
2 Checking that the cable was for data not just charging

The apple car play works Ok, although I do not use it much, due to the maps only filling up part of the large screen, also the maps not displaying on the multi display on the instrument column.

To get it to work you need the latest apple operating system IOS 12.3.
You will also need the latest google maps app on your phone.

Once you have connected by the cable, go into device manager and press link arrow
Apple car play should then appear on the right hand side.

my phone shows the following under car play once disconnected.

Tom Tom do a good apple car play Nav now as well, for £1.90 per month. If you were previously a TOmTom user all your places will appear.

Did you manage to get your apple car play work on the PCM..

Also I would be grateful if you could check for me that your last trip updates correctly on your IOS Connect. I need to know if it is just my car specific or a general one that effects all 992.

Apologies for the delay !

Yes i did get apple car play working thank you but think I will stick with Bluetooth/Spotify as it negates the need for plugging a cable in etc.

I don't think the car data is being replicated correctly on my IOS connect app. As mentioned the mileage is correct but Trip End time says 8.19am where as I finished using the car earlier to day at 10.30am and when I press 'trip data' it has the date of the 23rd June where as today is the 27th June - are these the consistencies that you are referring to ?

Yes they are the ones. You will find that if you changed to kilometers per hour in car it updates instantly once the engine is stopped,

I had a letter today from Porsche UK to say they having recalls on the car,

to modify the drinking bottle holder

and PCM software update,

Maybe the software update will fix the problem, although I thing it is mainly to do with the tracker fobs.

My app is displaying data that differs from the PCM. Also it only shows data "since start”. The 2other options "since refuelling " and "total” are blank

Await to hear how you get on

I didn’t get a driver cup holder when I picked up my 992! Do you know what the software update relates to ? I wonder if all 992s are being recalled as I’ve not had a letter but only picked the car up 2 weeks ago.

I understand the software update is to do with the tracker, the use of two fobs?
