R22, have kindly invited us to join them for their annual Show & Shine hosted at Porsche Centre Kendal.

As usual there will also be a Visitors’ Class for members from other Regions, so I hope we can encourage a few R3 members to take up the challenge and represent the Region again.

This year both Porsche Centre Kendal and Chemical Guys UK will be the event sponsors and will be donating some great prizes, so don't delay in getting your application in and supporting this event. Please email cumbria@porscheclubgb.com to register your interest, who will then send you a booking form in the coming weeks for you to complete.

A complimentary lunch will be offered to all those who register to show their car, with refreshments available to all other PCGB members on the day.

This is always a great day out with the added bonus of having some great driving roads to get there and back.

Keep an eye on this thread for more details of meeting places and times if you would like to join us for the drive over.

I'm planning on going over Hartside ... (via Hexham and Alston) ... what time do we need to be there?? Might need an early start ??

Anyone fancy joining up for the drive over, meet at Hexham BP Services NE46 4DL FROM 8.30am to leave at 9.00 prompt.

This will give us enough time for a cuppa and a breakfast roll from either Greggs or Costa at the services before hitting the road for a scenic run via Hartside to Porsche Kendal. Alternatively is anyone heading along the A66 willing to organise a group meeting point, for the guys traveling from the South of our Region.

See you there.

Richard you have as much time as you need to prepare your car prior to when judging commences.

There is a pressure washer at Morrisons, just about a mile before the dealership if you need it after the run over. Other than that you can rinse it off at the dealership and give it a bit of an extra going over there so don’t forget your bucket.

great ... two buckets, sponges, microfibre mit and a can of "quick detailer" all coming along :) see you at Hexham :)

Does anyone from the South fancy meeting at Crosslanes Organic on the A66 near Barnard Castle about 9.00 on Sunday? Could drive over to Kirkby Stephen by Tan Hill or A66 and then through Sedbergh to Kendal for around 10.30.

I could be tempted if the weather forecast stays good (although the A66 is a bit of a busmans holiday at the moment!) do you have to register for the day or just if you want to show?

Trying to work out Mrs Gronks plans for Sunday (in the doghouse after a ‘misunderstanding’ meant that we ‘wasted’ the good weather!!!!)

Anyone know the route being taken from Hexham, may be easier to intercept the convoy as it goes via Hartsode vs driving up to Hexham

GordonT depending on the answer may still be up for A66

Great day out even the weather played ball, thanks everyone who turned out to support R22.

Well done Steve & Shirley and congratulations, another well deserved trophy in the visitors class and a good first effort by Richard with his well presented Carrera T.

A great day out. I’ve a much better idea of how to do it next time ... cleaning the wheels for example!

Soooo ironic that I picked up a big stone chip. The big question... do I patch it in myself? or get someone to do it... and if so who?? Keen to get some recommendations!

Sounds you had a fine day out. Sorry I was unable to make it myself.

Personally I wouldn’t attempt to try and self-repair a bad stone chip on your beautiful Carrera T. I have had some work done myself on occasion and used Lloyd Bodyshop of Newcastle who have always done a superb job IMHO.

When you are at it you might consider PPF. I had my 971 done from the A pillars forwards by Autoshield Protection of Newcastle using SunTek PPF Ultra and detailed by DDB Detailing North Shields using GTechniq Crystal Serum Ultra. I realise PPF is not for everyone but on my daily drive it really has saved me on countless occasions.
