New Cayman 718 Owner

Hi All,
After much deliberation and dragging my poor partner the length and breath of the country to test drive different cars. In the mix Bmw m2 comp, merc amg c43, 981 cayman/boxster s, 991.1 ( as old as poss)! And the 718 cayman/ boxster variants.
I went for a 2018 718 cayman base.

why? Well I found a very low mileage, really good condition and nice spec base version. Which, considering the initial budget I was looking at was slightly cheaper than some of its contenders (ie Bmw m2 comp & 991.1)

i was adamant I wanted the 981 S for the flat 6.. but tbh I really don’t mind the engine tone of the 4, and for me being a daily the 718 had advantages over the 981. Plus I like new things, the updated tech seems to be a step up, I prefer the styling and so on.

only a week in and I’m absolutely over the moon.

It is due to go into Porsche to retro fit power steering plus, which I have thought long about this but really prefer the way the car felt steering wise at low speeds with it.. bit heavy for me without.

already booked a couple of Porsche events 2.. going to be a good year!!??

Well done Sarah!

I'm sure you won't regret your choice and hope that you enjoy both the car and the Club events too.

Good one Sarah.

An often overlooked thing, Power Steering Plus is a very worthwhile option. It also improves the steering feel at higher speeds, if that's your thing.

You will enjoy your 718.

Brian
