992 C2S Cab order

It's been a long time since I posted here, so apologies in advance.

My first time was back in 2009 when I bought a new 997.2 which I loved. That went a few years ago, since then I've had a couple of Range Rovers, a Macan GTS and I've been driving a 991.2 C2S for almost 3 years now, also on the odd occasion when the Mrs will let me, drive her new Cayenne S, which is a lovely car.

Ordered a new C2S Cab in Gentian Blue (my first non black car ever lol) on the 10th of Jan, which I believe was the first in line at my local Porsche centre (Hatfield). Originally I was given a build completion date towards the end of March.
This was then moved to April 18th. Since then my dealer has had zero info from Porsche. Another build he looked at went back a month on the actual given completion date.

I find it amazing that in certain parts of the world, customers can log in and track their orders during most stages of build and transportation, yet here, Porsche GB are so far behind the curve in this respect.
I'm guessing the Porsche centres here rely on Porsche GB for a lot of their info and its looks to be like this is the weak link in the chain.

No answers as to why these delays on the cabs. If there is anyone experiencing similar I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks in advance
Eric

I know it is very frustrating. Once it leaves the factory you then up against the transportation.

For example, mine left the factory 22nd March and arrived at the dealership 17th April.
The only feedback you have is from the Porsche Centre.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I'll feel a lot better once it actually leaves the factory. After which, with or without shipment info at least I'd know its on the way.
I have the best of 5 months invested in this already so I may as well keep going. Like a poker game I'm all in lol.

Good thing I didn't sell my 991.2 C2s prematurely.

Hi. My first post here. Also waiting on CS2 cab. My latest update from the dealer “ Your car is in build but the factory are currently carrying out extra quality checks on the new 992. I am hoping that this will not delay your car too much and am still hoping that we will have you in your car around the middle of May.”
This will be my first Porsche (wifey has a Cayenne) so very excited and impatient.

I hope you do get yours mid may but I can't see it.

Mine was due to roll off the production line end March, then early April, then end April and now being told mid May.

If it finally does leave the factory mid May I will probably not see the car until mid June. Or it could be delayed again :(

I just ordered a C2S Coup last Friday. presumably they will have only put the order in to the factory then or beginning of this week. I have not been given any formal indication of delivery date yet, and I've never ordered new from Porsche before.

Can anyone give me any idea what sort of time frame I can expect? I was hoping late August/early Sept.

Congrats on your order.

From my experience, and I've had 5 new cars from Porsche, I'd say your estimation of August/Sept is about right. Provided they start shipping the cars they have on backlog already including quite a few 992 Cabs.

And I really appreciate your reply and you sharing your experience on this. I suspect the waiting will now be the hardest part!

Just spoke to my guy at the Porsche centre. There are also other salesmen at the Porsche centre who also have customer cabs on order.

Literally nothing is moving to the shipping stage. Depressing.

Update from my dealer just in.

Porsche have indicated today that the first of the new 911 Cabriolets are unlikely to arrive before the middle of June."

Thanks.

I've been told to expect mid-September at the earliest. and then it has to go away for a week for PPF... so it looks like the Coups are a bit delayed as well as the Cabs.

I still remember some friends waited over a year for their Macan...

My latest ‘build completion date’ is May 19th.

If this proves to be accurate this time, 2nd-3rd week of June seems plausible.

Having said that, mine has been pushed back three times so far.

A friend of mine has been waiting a year for his new Cayenne S.

We were lucky with ours last year as it just went out before the Porsche build pause due to the new particulate filter installations.

Even then our Cayenne took just over 7 months to hit our local dealer.

Update, my 992 Cab is finally at Emden and await shipping.
So build completion date wasn’t the 19th of May then.

Update.  Build due to complete this week, so I guess delivery end of June. I am told first Cabs started to arrive in UK end of last last week. Any sightings?

Update on mine, car was on the boat yesterday and will be ready to pick up from the dealer next week.

Only problem is I'm away next week so picking up week after on the 1st of June.

Just to keep the updates coming (for those who want to know lead times etc);
I put my order into the centre in the last week of April.
I have just been given the formal build date of first week September.
I think my sales guy (who I get on with very well) actually took that over a mid August date that was offered so as to get a **69 plate on it instead of it being a very late **19.

So it will be subject to shipping availability and it will need to be PPFd when it arrives, but he is hoping for a handover date of late September/early October.

@Senna glad yours is so close! excited for you. If you need anyone to pick it up and run it in for you while you're away, just ask ;) haha
