Hi,
I am looking for a folding Wind Deflector for my 997 Carrera S Gen1. I've seen several advertised some say will fit all 996 and 997 some 996 and 997 Gen1 and some Gen 2. Has anyone been down this route before? I don't want to go buying something that doesn't fit.
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve

I had the same concerns when I was looking for a wind deflector For my 997.1 Carrera S a couple of years ago. I’ve checked back at my purchase history on a well know auction site to find the description of the deflector I bought - "Genuine Porsche 996 997 911 folding wind deflector with bag - looks brand new”. It does look brand new and fits perfectly! I was concerned to ensure it was a genuine Porsche part with faith that if it was, it would fit. The deflector makes a big difference to driving with the roof down. The bag is also useful and well worth having to store the deflector. There’s a Velcro strap on the bag that loops round a fixing in the ‘frunk‘ to hold the deflector bag in place when stored.

hope that is helpful - good luck with your search for a wind deflector

Hi Geoff
Many thanks for your reply, so it appears the genuine Porsche wind deflector fits both 996 and 997 I will be searching the same well known auction site. I'm new to Porsche only collected the car a couple of weeks ago, but loving every minute. I have friends with TVRs they recon I've gone to the dark side :ROFLMAO: if the last couple of weeks are anything to go by then its dark side is for me.
Many thanks
Steve.
